Intro to Chicken Scratch Embroidery

Learn to embroider on gingham. This workshop will teach students the fundamentals of Chicken Scratch Embroidery: a version of cross stitch that gives the impression of appliqued lace.

Class will begin with a quick history lesson and an introduction into embroidery terminology. Examples of embroidery will also be shown to learn and inspire. Together we will create a sampler to take home and reference for future projects.

All level of students are welcomed! We will work at a pace that is comfortable for everyone.

Kate Leaver has been professionally working in the fashion industry for the last 10 years designing for such brands as J.Crew, Steven Alan, Madewell and Free Assembly. She is a maker who has kept the desire to create her own clothing and accessories.
